The first few months of a puppy’s life is a critical period for socializing and training. They are rapidly growing and are highly receptive to new experiences and learning. Whether you choose Personal Training, Day Train, or Training Camp, My Mindful Pup will teach your puppy house manners, age appropriate obedience, and socializing to give them the structure needed to understand what is expected of them. Positive Puppy is reward based training that uses positive reinforcement games and activities that will prepare your puppy for the real world as a confident and well-adjusted adult without the use of an E-Collar!
If you have an adolescent, adult, or rescue dog, our Basic to Advanced Training services is for you!
Basic Obedience starts with teaching the foundations of basic commands, house manners, and how to behave in public. When your dog understands these tasks, we add distance, duration, and bigger distractions to their training while focusing on your main goals.
Advanced Obedience is offered to dogs who have successfully completed basic obedience and are ready for the next level of off leash command while under your control.

Behavior modification differs from obedience training (complying to a command), because it addresses the undesirable reactions that your dog has towards a specific stimulant. Unwanted behaviors include but not limited to: aggression, leash reactivity, anxiety, fear, excessive barking or attention seeking, resource guarding, and hyperactivity. The causes of these behaviors could be: environmental, genetics, trauma, lack of or poor training and socializing, medical issues, and improper use of training tools and techniques. K9 Nose Work, also known as Scent Work, is a fairly new dog sport that was created in 2006 by a group of certified, professional dog trainers who wanted to introduce a detection-style dog training game and sport for all dogs and their handlers. While Scent Work encourages dogs to utilize their natural sniffing and hunting abilities to seek out and find hidden scents in various environments, this is not the same or an addition to the jobs of the professionally trained detection dogs such as military, police, search and rescue, or medical service dogs. Are you looking for a family fun activity that involves your dog? From kids to adults, teaching tricks to your pup is a fun way to train you dog basic obedience, create a stronger human-animal bond, and provides your pup with both physical and mental exercise. Plus, you’ll love showing off what your pup can do! Trick Training is currently offered through our Personal Training program.
My Mindful Pup is proud to offer 2 AKC programs that are available to all dog breeds and ages.
1) The AKC S.T.A.R Puppy is an award program designed to put you and your pup on the right path to a successful, training journey. All puppies must first complete the Positive Puppy course and be between 3 to 12 months old.
2)The AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) was created to reward owner responsibility and set the standards for a well-mannered, trained dog both inside the home and out in public. All dogs must complete the Basic Obedience course to sign up. This program is opened to all ages but, we encourage puppies 6 months and younger to start with the AKC S.T.A.R. program.
